About The Position

Shaner Hotels is hiring a Floor Houseperson for the opening team at TownePlace Suites by Marriott State College, an 89-suite extended-stay hotel in State College, Pennsylvania. The role is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned public spaces to hotel and franchise standards, maintaining quality and cleanliness, and supporting guest satisfaction by responding to requests and complaints. The employee must follow housekeeping, safety, and security procedures, report maintenance deficiencies, protect guest confidentiality and security, restock the cart at the end of each shift, and complete scheduled deep or seasonal cleaning. The position requires a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Requirements

• At least one year of cleaning experience.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers in a way they understand.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned hotel public areas and maintain established cleanliness standards.
• Handle guest requests and complaints, helping ensure guest satisfaction.
• Report maintenance deficiencies.
• Maintain quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments.
• Follow house rules, safety rules, housekeeping procedures, and security procedures.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
• Return and restock the cart at the end of each shift.
• Complete additional deep cleaning and seasonal cleaning as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
