About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor manages the functional areas of the housekeeping department and maintains Shaner and/or franchise standards and procedures. The role helps direct and sustain a strong service and management philosophy, supports housekeeping team members, and promotes high-quality guest service at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott State College, an 89-suite extended-stay hotel. As part of the hotel's opening team, the supervisor will help establish the property's culture and service standards.

Requirements

Prior housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and equipment use.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience.

Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with and completion of the housekeeping department's daily operational procedures.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with Shaner Hotels, franchise, hotel, and departmental policies and procedures, and keep the housekeeping team informed.
Handle guest complaints and work toward guest satisfaction.
Train and develop team members and ensure required training is completed according to standards.
Review daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions.
Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum guest service.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned areas.
Perform housekeeping, laundry, and houseperson functions when necessary.
Maintain established housekeeping standards and procedures and manage the department's functional areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
