About The Position

The Laundry Attendant processes bed linens, terry, and table linens by operating laundry and dry-cleaning machinery in accordance with hotel standards. The role also involves cleaning, pressing, and finishing staff and guest garments and designated guest-room fabrics and articles. The attendant helps maintain quality, cleanliness, and safety standards while supporting housekeeping, restaurant, banquet, recreation, and guest-service needs. The position is with the opening team at TownePlace Suites by Marriott State College, an 89-suite extended-stay hotel managed by Shaner Hotels.

Requirements

Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers so they can understand.
Knowledge of laundry and dry-cleaning equipment and chemical handling.
Knowledge of finishing techniques for all types of fabrics.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments.
Follow house, safety, housekeeping, and security rules and procedures.
Cooperate with managers and supervisors to complete requests as soon as possible.
Use appropriate cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
Use personal protective equipment in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
Sort, pretreat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens.
Inspect linens for tears or stains and reject or reclaim them as appropriate.
Mend and sew linens.
Fill banquet and restaurant linen requisitions.
Deliver guest-service supplies to guest rooms.
Process contract-cleaned linens.
Restock housekeeping closets and carts.
Provide towel service to recreation areas.
Process bed linens, terry, and table linens by operating laundry and dry-cleaning machinery according to hotel standards.
Clean, press, and finish staff and guest garments, as well as designated guest-room fabrics and articles.
