About The Position
Shaner Hotels is hiring a Hospitality Attendant for the opening team at TownePlace Suites by Marriott State College, an 89-suite extended-stay hotel in State College, Pennsylvania. The attendant welcomes and interacts with guests in the breakfast and lobby areas and supports the breakfast service from setup through breakdown. Duties include preparing specified breakfast items, replenishing food, and serving guests courteously and efficiently according to departmental quality standards. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and quality standards, handling guest complaints to ensure satisfaction, following food-handling, safety, security, maintenance, and cleaning procedures, and assisting with scheduled inventories. The attendant must be available for a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and varied shifts; other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- At least one year of customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and coworkers so they understand.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hotel experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish ability.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.
- Food safety certification.
Responsibilities
- Welcome, greet, and interact with guests in the breakfast and lobby areas.
- Set up, serve, maintain, and break down the breakfast bar line.
- Prepare specified food items and replenish food at the breakfast bar.
- Assist in serving breakfast-bar food to guests courteously and efficiently, following departmental quality standards and specifications.
- Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain quality and cleanliness standards throughout daily assignments.
- Follow house and safety rules, food-handling and security procedures, and the maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Assist with inventories as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
