About The Position

The Floor Customer Service role provides professional sales service to customers, helping them identify appropriate products and related items. The position includes sharing product information, preparing minor estimates for review, processing sales transactions, and maintaining store presentation. This role is performed onsite at a TAL Building Centers store; remote work is not available.

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to compute discounts, interest, profit and loss, commission, markup and selling price, ratios and proportions, percentages, and to calculate surfaces, volume, weights, and measures.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine customer needs and sell appropriate products and related items.
• Assist customers with information about products, including prices and availability.
• Recommend or obtain merchandise and sell appropriate add-on items.
• Calculate merchandise totals and tax using a point-of-sale device; receive payment and make change.
• Prepare minor estimates for verification by a supervising employee.
• Maintain quality store presentation, signage, and promotional displays.
• May keep sales records, prepare stock inventories, or order merchandise.
• May process merchandise returns or resolve complaints within predetermined practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
