About The Position

Imperial Electric Elevator, a Nidec company, manufactures custom AC and DC motor systems for the elevator and escalator industry. The Floor Assembler assembles fabricated parts, components, and units at floor stations, and tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. The role uses hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.

The position follows defined procedures and routine instructions, with close supervision. It is classified as Support & Production – S1 and focuses on completing day-to-day objectives with limited impact on team results.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.

Nice To Haves

• Machine shop or electronics courses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, then gather the required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements; assemble components by checking connections for proper fit and fastening parts together.
• Measure completed components to verify they meet specifications.
• Resolve assembly problems by adjusting dimensions to meet specifications and notifying a supervisor when additional resources are needed.
• Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Monitor supplies inventory, anticipate supply needs, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt of supplies.
• Complete production and quality forms to document work.
