About The Position

Located in scenic Honesdale, PA, Wayne County Fiscal Department is seeking a Fiscal Technician to manage key fiscal operations that keep essential services running. This position supports the financial functions that keep agency accounts organized, accurate, and aligned with established procedures. As a Fiscal Technician, you will perform the following duties: Transaction Input: Analyze accounting records and enter financial data into the computer accounting system System Transition: Assist with steps needed to implement a new general ledger and bookkeeping application Payroll Duties: Process salary and manage payroll allocations Monthly Reconciliations: Complete assigned reconciliations to ensure accurate financial tracking Audit Preparation: Assist with organizing materials and information needed for agency audits.

Requirements

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Submit to a drug screening (conditional offer of employment).
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance (conditional offer of employment).
