About The Position

This position is within the Environmental Public Health (EPH) program. The Fiscal Assistant II will be responsible for assisting clients with applications, providing information about EPH programs, assisting inspectors with enforcement actions, processing fees, managing data entry, maintaining databases and filing systems, researching historical records, and processing sanitary nuisance complaints. The role requires strong administrative and clerical skills, proficiency with computers and office equipment, and the ability to maintain electronic databases and file for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Ability to use a personal computer and general office equipment
  • Knowledge of basic filing practices
  • Ability to maintain electronic databases.
  • Will be required to work before, during and /or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency in response to a disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
  • Ability to file for long periods of time.
  • Proficient in computers, laptops, Microsoft, and other computer programs
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assists clients with completing applications for all Environmental Public Health (EPH) programs.
  • Provides information to the public relating to EPH programs.
  • Assists inspectors in issuing enforcement action for non-compliant facilities.
  • Accepts and process fees for EPH permits and services.
  • Assist clients via multi-line phone answering, email, and office walk-ins regarding EPH programs.
  • Completes data entry for EPH programs and fees collected.
  • Maintains internal database and filing system.
  • Assists all EPH programs with filing.
  • Researches historical records pertaining to EH permit applications.
  • Accepts and processes Sanitary Nuisance complaints.
  • Maintains a daily log sheet of payments accepted and reconciles log with Accountant.
