The incumbent is responsible for supporting department-wide bi-weekly payroll for approximately 4,500 staff; calculating simple and complex payroll adjustments based on position and pay changes, workmen's compensation claims, short-term disability, garnishments, retroactive pay, etc. The incumbent should have knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations, as well as the ability to maintain internal controls, research complex issues while communicating effectively both orally and in writing to support the unit, management and the department.
