About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by greeting and assisting customers, offering product information and recommendations, and handling merchandise carefully. The associate completes firearm transaction paperwork, maintains merchandise and pricing, replenishes stock, and develops product knowledge through ongoing training. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of applicable ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearm and ammunition customer service and sales.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally lift or move objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and help ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and throughout the store.
• Replenish shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
