About The Position

The Sales Associate - Firearms maintains firearm counter sales and customer service, as well as floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information, assistance, and direction. The associate helps customers make purchasing decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup. The position also requires accurate completion of Form 4473 and the ability to demonstrate products to customers.

The associate organizes and maintains merchandise at the gun counter and throughout the retail store, replenishes shelves according to merchandising guidelines, keeps current on product knowledge and advertised sales, maintains pricing and signage, assists with seasonal merchandise moves, and keeps the work area clean, neat, and stocked. The role follows company policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment and recommendations on work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales, including GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner; handle merchandise with care and provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 documents are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and elsewhere in the retail store.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
