About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role involves greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction.

The associate supports a strong commitment to customer service and works to create a pleasant shopping experience by identifying customer needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup. The associate maintains firearms merchandise and sales displays, replenishes shelves, stays current on product knowledge and advertised sales, and keeps the work area clean and stocked. The position operates under general supervision and established procedures, with occasional independent judgment when completing assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales knowledge for firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Nice To Haves

• 0–2 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and help create a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Identify customer needs and recommend products based on those needs.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 documents are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and elsewhere in the retail store.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
