About The Position

The Firearms Sales Associate (Sales Outfitter - Firearms) maintains firearms counter sales and customer service, while also supporting floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role provides friendly, prompt customer service; helps shoppers make informed purchasing decisions; and maintains merchandise and the gun counter in accordance with company and merchandising guidelines. The associate must complete firearm transaction forms accurately, maintain product knowledge, and follow company policies and procedures.

This role requires standing and/or walking for most of the shift. Duties may also involve ladders, repetitive hand and wrist motions, machinery or power tools, motor vehicles or heavy equipment, confined spaces, and noisy environments. Work includes moving objects up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally moving or lifting objects of 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed. The position works under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment and opportunities to recommend improvements to procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of customer service and sales of firearms and ammunition, including GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide a pleasant and productive shopping experience and a legendary customer experience.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and courteously; handle merchandise with care and provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Complete ATF Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and in the retail store.
• Replenish merchandise on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and supplied.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
