Sales Associate - Firearms - Part Time
About The Position
The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and warmly, handling merchandise with care, and providing information, assistance, and direction. The associate helps customers make buying decisions, promotes relevant programs, and maintains firearms merchandise and the sales area. The position operates under general supervision and established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of retail experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
- Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
- Customer service and sales experience or ability related to firearms and ammunition.
- Knowledge of GCA.
- Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Support world-class customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience for customers.
- Assist customers with buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
- Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
- Ensure Form 4473 paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately.
- Demonstrate products to customers.
- Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and elsewhere in the retail store for sale.
- Replenish shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain product expertise through ongoing training.
- Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
