About The Position

Atlantic Emergency Solutions is hiring a diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair fire trucks and ambulances used by first responders. The work is primarily performed in an indoor service and maintenance shop in Manassas, Virginia, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed. The company describes its shops as clean, compliant, and efficient, and emphasizes consistent hours and a predictable schedule.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Overtime may be available, and there are no rotating shifts. Pay is $25.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy-duty or emergency vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fire trucks and ambulances.
• Document repairs, labor time, and parts usage accurately.
• Complete safety inspections and ensure vehicles are ready for service.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Assist other technicians as needed and work as part of a team.
