As a Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I), you begin by obtaining securities industry licenses through dedicated instruction for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 exams. After licensing, you learn foundational advisor skills, including acquiring, building, and managing client relationships; understanding clients’ complex financial circumstances; and providing advice and solutions to support their financial goals. After reaching key milestones, you begin working in a financial center and help deliver the bank’s core banking and investment solutions and client care approach. The role includes structured training, onboarding, study time, and one-on-one coaching from Academy managers. You will use a consultative approach to identify client needs, provide comprehensive advice, conduct client reviews and presentations, and recommend strategies. You will work with banking and investment partners to connect clients with Bank of America and Merrill solutions. Successful progression through the licensed Stage I role typically leads to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, with opportunities for further advancement within Bank of America and Merrill. The position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, including registration with the federal registry system and completion of the required background check and registration process. Employees must maintain good standing; failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in termination. The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days; Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66. The position is open across the market, and the specific financial center location will be determined by business needs. If hired, you will train at one financial center and may initially work in a phone-based capacity until a financial center within reasonable commuting distance of your home is determined, as permitted by applicable law. The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, first shift, 40 hours per week. Bank of America describes an in-office culture, with expectations and flexibility based on role responsibilities and business needs.
