The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) role begins with dedicated training to obtain securities industry licenses, followed by instruction in foundational advising skills. Advisors learn to acquire, build, and manage client relationships, understand clients’ financial circumstances, and provide guidance and solutions. After reaching key milestones, the advisor works in a financial center to deliver core banking and investment solutions and client care. Successful licensed Stage I advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, where they deepen relationships within a client portfolio and may pursue additional career opportunities at Bank of America and Merrill. The Academy provides programs, tools, and resources throughout the career journey. The position requires SAFE Act registration, including the required background check and maintenance of good standing. The employee must obtain the SIE within 30 days of hire and Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days; Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66. Training includes structured lessons, dedicated study time, onboarding, and one-on-one coaching. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, on the first shift, for 40 hours per week. The role is open across the market; the specific financial center assignment depends on business needs. Training takes place at one financial center, and the role may initially be phone-based until a financial center within a reasonable commuting distance is determined, as permitted by law.
