About The Position

R1 is hiring a Financial Counseling Representative to support patients at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this on-site role, you will guide patients through insurance coverage, financial responsibility, payment options, and financial assistance. You will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, moving between systems, phone calls, and in-person interactions while collaborating with clinicians, emergency staff, care teams, and revenue cycle departments. The role offers experience in healthcare financial counseling and revenue cycle, exposure to insurance and Medicaid processes, and opportunities for career growth within R1.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Exceptional customer service experience and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, empathy, and patience when supporting patients, clients, and team members.
• Ability to explain financial and insurance concepts clearly.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly with high attention to detail.
• Professionalism when handling sensitive financial conversations.

Responsibilities
