About The Position

The Finance Manager is a key member of AMD’s AI Group (AIG) Finance team and reports to the Senior Manager of Finance. The role focuses on improving financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency to support AMD’s growing AI business. It develops scalable financial reporting and management processes across AIG strategic transactions, financial commitments, and infrastructure support arrangements. The position consolidates financial information across multiple workstreams, enhances management reporting, improves data integrity, and drives automation and process standardization. It works cross-functionally with Business Finance, Corporate Accounting, Business Development, Operations, and other stakeholders to improve financial visibility, strengthen reporting processes, and support executive decision-making. The position is based in San Jose, California, and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including forecasting, scenario analysis, financial reporting, and business performance evaluation.
Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex financial models, large datasets, data reconciliation, and reporting automation.
Strong understanding of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, and familiarity with financial controls and accounting processes.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, executive-ready materials.
Ability to manage cross-functional projects, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

Experience in FP&A, finance operations, financial reporting, finance transformation, or related corporate finance roles.
Experience developing financial dashboards, management reporting, and scalable reporting processes; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.
Experience driving finance process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
Proficiency with AI-powered productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Claude, and demonstrated ability to use AI to improve financial analysis, automate workflows, and enhance reporting.
Experience consolidating and managing financial information across multiple business functions, systems, and data sources.
Semiconductor, technology, or other complex multinational business experience.
MBA, CPA, CFA, or another advanced degree.

Responsibilities

Identify and drive initiatives to streamline financial processes, standardize workflows, and improve operational efficiency across AIG Strategic Finance.
Develop, maintain, and enhance management reporting, dashboards, and financial performance metrics for AIG leadership and CFO staff.
Consolidate financial information across workstreams and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used in reporting, forecasting, and management reviews.
Support consolidated reporting and analysis of strategic transactions, financial commitments, backstop arrangements, prepayments, and associated financial exposure.
Lead initiatives to automate manual reporting and reconciliation processes using advanced Excel, AI-powered tools, and other technologies.
Build and maintain financial models and analytical tools for financial planning, exposure tracking, scenario analysis, and business performance evaluation.
Partner with Business Finance, Accounting, Operations, and other stakeholders to align data sources, financial assumptions, and reporting requirements.
Develop and enhance processes, documentation, and controls to improve reporting accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness.
Prepare financial analyses, presentations, and executive-ready materials that communicate financial information and its business implications.
Establish scalable reporting frameworks, operating cadences, and standardized processes to support AIG’s growth and complexity.
