The Field Support Engineer will perform technical assessments of existing Windows 10 workstations to determine Windows 11 upgrade or replacement requirements. This role involves capturing and maintaining workstation information, assessing hardware and software readiness for Windows 11, and supporting the replacement of legacy workstations. The engineer will build, configure, and prepare Windows 11 workstations, install and configure various software, and support the migration of configurations and data. Responsibilities also include verifying connectivity, performing technical troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors, and supporting pre-upgrade backup activities. The role requires executing workstation upgrade and replacement activities, supporting Active Directory/domain integration, and coordinating with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams. The engineer will also support application owners and end users during post-upgrade verification, work with Validation and Quality resources for regulated systems, and document assessment results and implementation activities. Identifying technical risks and escalating them to the project technical lead is crucial. The role demands adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions, change-management procedures, data-integrity requirements, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable GxP practices. Participation in project meetings, technical reviews, and maintaining accurate project status are also key. The individual will work at the client site to collect required information for the Windows 10 to Windows 11 OS migration, including hardware and application details.
