Field Service Technician-Construction Equipment
About The Position
Harnish Group Inc. is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Resident) for its Service Department at the Fairbanks, Alaska Branch. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, removing, assembling, and installing heavy equipment components and systems. The technician will troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems, investigate equipment problems, and recommend solutions. The position requires planning and organizing work, with particular attention to controlling job costs. Salary is $63.65–$67.65 per hour, with the hourly rate based on skills and experience. Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers is required.
Requirements
- Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy construction equipment.
- High school degree or equivalent, graduation from a 2–4 year vocational technical school, or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours per day and to twist, bend, squat, sit, stoop, and kneel.
- Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
- Experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging, and blocking equipment.
