About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and make advanced repairs to equipment at customer locations. The work is intended to be performed safely and effectively to avoid equipment downtime. Fleet types vary by location and primarily include aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment; specialty locations may also service large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment and makes in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for service or operations management career tracks, and work with a safety-focused team. Extensive on-the-job training is offered to eligible employees. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
A CDL may be required in some locations.
