Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customers’ locations. The role focuses on completing work safely and effectively to minimize equipment downtime. Equipment varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The position offers work on varied equipment in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and a safety-focused team environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
- A CDL may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual ability, such as Spanish or another language, may be required based on location needs.
