Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The goal is to service equipment safely and effectively to avoid downtime. Depending on the location, the fleet may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role may involve working in remote locations and offers opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management in a safety-focused team environment. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Mechanic’s tools of the trade may need to be provided by the employee. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic’s tools of the trade; these may be required depending on the role.
- CDL license may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
