About The Position

Talon Recruiting is seeking Field Service Technicians for their client, a leading provider of commercial trucks and equipment, in Saint Paul, MN. This role involves performing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including aerial cranes, bucket trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, conveyors, digger derricks, pressure diggers, and aerial lifts. The technician will work with various OEMs and vocational trucks, providing mechanical skills and technical support to the service team. Responsibilities include servicing the company's rental fleet in the field, ensuring equipment is in proper working order, and adhering to all procedures and protocols. Daily communication with service team members is expected. The role requires working cooperatively with others and maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent.
Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus.
General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm or truck.
Must hold a valid Commercial driver’s license.
Must have your own tools.
Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.
Experience or interest in working with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers or tractors; military heavy equipment, or tanks; aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment.
Experience in Hydraulics, electrical, diagnostics, scan tool, Preventive maintenance, repair.
Experience working 30-40% in engine compartment and 60-70% repairing hydraulics, electrical, aerials, digger derricks, augers, excavators etc.

Nice To Haves

Construction, Utility company, diesel mechanic or related industry exp. desired.
Preferably Hold an unexpired CDL class B.

Responsibilities

Provide preventive maintenance and repair of aerial cranes, bucket trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, conveyors, digger derricks, pressure diggers, and aerial lifts.
Work with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, and cranes.
Perform service on company rental fleet while in the field.
Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and workmanship follows all procedures and protocol.
Communicate with service team members daily.
Work with a variety of OEMs including Freightliners, Western Stars, Peterbilt, Internationals on vocational trucks.
Work cooperatively with other members of the service team to provide mechanical skills and technical support.
Work in a safe manner.
