About The Position

Stolle Machinery is seeking Mechanical Field Service Technicians to join our growing service team. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills while supporting customers around the world and contributing to the success of a global industry leader. When not traveling to customer locations, technicians contribute to a variety of business activities, including technical support, manual and procedure updates, training development, and other service department projects, either remotely or from a Stolle Machinery location as business needs require. The anticipated closing date of this job posting is October 31, 2026. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications considerations. JOB SUMMARY: To provide remote and on-site field service support, including equipment installation, start-up, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, training, and technical assistance for Stolle product lines at domestic and international customer locations. This position serves as a technical resource to customers and internal teams, ensuring equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and timely resolution of service-related issues. When not assigned to customer sites, the position supports internal operations through documentation development, manual and procedure updates, training material preparation, technical research, administrative activities, and other departmental projects. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, GED or Vocational School studying Industrial Mechanics, Machine Shop, Machinist, Manufacturing Technology or other related fields.
  • Skilled trades certificate required.
  • 3-5 year’s experience.
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of Stolle product lines.
  • Strong orientation to Customer Service.
  • Mechanically Inclined, strong orientation for mathematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the canmaking industry, manufacturing methods, process improvement programs required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications for equipment, manuals, instructions, reports, financial statements, etc…
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume – basic math skills including algebra and geometry.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business software applicable to the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient with Allen Bradley products- Control Logix, Guard Logic, Kinetix 7000, Kinetix 6500, BootP software for setting up Ethernet addresses, Compact Logix, Devicenet, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid passport and a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong problem solver w/ calm demeanor and approach.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Audit/Overhaul: Checks machine functionality utilizing a pre-determined checklist. Makes recommendations to customer; to improve machine performance, replacement parts, for spare parts list or if overhaul is required. Overhaul machinery as requested, test and troubleshoot as required.
  • Machine Set Up/Start Up/Warranty: Test, trouble-shoot, adjust machinery to ensure smoother operation of the same.
  • Customer Service: Be prepared to be versatile and flexible for the customer. Diagnose machinery issues over the phone. Must respond as a statesman and respond as a representative of Stolle Machinery Co. under pressure. Review RFQ (Request for Quote) and consult with customers on new projects.
  • Training: Provide training in one-on-one or group format critical information about machinery, with or without the use of an interpreter. Insure understanding for effective and efficient operation of machinery before departure.
  • Administration & Documentation: Documents any and all issues, normal or unusual, as presented through written description and or the use of pictures. Ensure reports are submitted for each service visit. Complete accurate Service/Call Time Report for company and customer use.
  • Communicate: Remain in contact with base location and peer Field Service Technicians for assistance, additional information, trouble-shooting expertise as required.
  • Production: Not limited to manufacture, assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot/diagnose, adjust, clean/prep and all other associated functions with Stolle Machinery Co product lines.
  • Able to install/de-bug, electrical assemblies, sensors, systems, wiring, programming, etc…
