The Field Service Technician supports Plug Power fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks, servicing fuel cells at a designated customer location. The role involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, breakdown response, specialized service procedures, field retrofits, and software and hardware upgrades. The technician reports breakdown events, orders parts, maintains service and inventory records, and communicates with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers about aftermarket support. The position requires strong technical, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, along with a commitment to safety and quality. Travel may be required for business needs, and the technician must be willing and able to respond to off-shift needs. The role also includes progressive technical and non-technical training requirements. These cover customer-site onboarding, work orders and service systems, multimeter use, hydrogen pad and dispenser inspections, fuel cell stack and component replacement, lockout/tagout, battery and parts shipping, hydrogen system maintenance, and related procedures. The technician provides their own standard tool set; Plug Power supplies specific fuel cell tools.
