About The Position

The Field Service Engineer I installs, tests, debugs, validates, modifies, and supports autonomous vehicle systems and associated equipment at customer sites. The role includes domestic and international travel, monitoring system performance, making software and hardware adjustments, training customers, and collaborating with other engineers. Candidates are preferably located near a major airport.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology in an engineering field such as software, electrical, mechanical, industrial, robotics, computer science, computer engineering, or mechatronics.
At least 2 years of full-time engineering work experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Prior software experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Proficiency in CAD.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with C, C++, MATLAB, Python, or Visual Basic; these languages are preferred.
AutoCAD experience; AutoCAD is preferred.
Living close to a major airport is preferred.

Responsibilities

Install autonomous vehicles and peripheral equipment, including chargers, I/O panels, and operator interfaces.
Perform system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites 60–75% of the time.
Modify equipment and software.
Troubleshoot system components and identify, resource, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and/or software improvement opportunities.
Make software and hardware adjustments.
Monitor system performance metrics.
Perform customer training.
Interface with customers.
Collaborate with other engineers on projects.
