About The Position

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a customer-oriented and motivated individual to join their professional team as a Field Service Coordinator. This role is based in the Ottawa Region and requires applicants to currently reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work. The position involves dispatching road service technicians, communicating with customers to troubleshoot issues and provide updates, and ensuring service completion. Key responsibilities also include ordering and coordinating parts for on-site services, managing regular maintenance schedules for rental equipment, and actively working to identify and recover equipment damages and abuse. The coordinator is responsible for accurately capturing and invoicing all service-related charges and repairs. Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of construction equipment.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a parts and service role or mechanical role, preferably in the rental industry or a similar field.
  • Proficient in electronic data systems.
  • Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proficient with diagnostic software, manuals, and schematics.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive customer first approach.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effectively communicate to the team about any new or changing health & safety policies in the field (hold daily tailgates).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch the team of road service technicians to service calls based on location.
  • Communicate with customers to troubleshoot issues, provide updates, and confirm service completion.
  • Require all field communications and reports to be submitted electronically, whenever possible.
  • Order and coordinate parts for all work orders for on-site services.
  • Manage regular maintenance schedules for rental equipment onsite.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in identifying and recovering equipment damages and abuse.
  • Ensure that all service-related charges and repairs are accurately captured and invoiced.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, compliance, and continuous improvement in field service operations while actively demonstrating a strong health & safety mindset.
