About The Position

The Program Coordinator supports the Centre Manager by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing, and coordinating activities of the MAC Centre. To excel in this role, the coordinator must be resourceful, take initiative, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The position requires an understanding of the MAC Islamic Centre's programs and institution, and the ability to work independently while aligning with MAC's mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Good problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the requirements of the MAC Islamic Centre programs and the structure and functionality of the MAC institution.
  • Ability to work independently and be organized to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
  • Leadership in development and program mapping.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, provide agendas and minutes, develop reports relevant to activities, and implement policies.
  • Create programs that generate revenue for the Centre.
  • Prepare and plan activities.
  • Prepare educational material and documents for the program or activity.
  • Provide orientation of the program or activity to the Management Committee.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and distribute activities and schedules with the director and office administrative staff.
  • Maintain a systemic file system with a program record.
  • Manage a computerized data system in Excel.
  • Coordinate the development of program policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate ongoing program evaluation.
  • Organize and chair program team meetings.
  • Assist in the management of fiscal operations including budget development, modifications, and tracking expenditures.
  • Monitor the program's financial health and make recommendations to the Director.
  • Assist with the development of public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness.
  • Demonstrate awareness of program goals and objectives.
  • Utilize available resources and websites to enhance the program and activity.
  • Network with other coordinators, institutes, and organizations to share information and gain knowledge.
  • Strengthen sisterhood/brotherhood among staff and manage the Centre in alignment with MAC objectives.
