Requirements

Post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA)
Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Insurance, and reliable vehicle is required
General knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment
Focus is to embrace and support person and family-centered care
Passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
Value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance

Responsibilities

Prepare clients for treatment and progress clients through treatment programs
Assist with and/or teach client therapy programs and training activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment and balance training
Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment including set up, take down, and cleaning/disinfecting. Ensure equipment is in good working order
Apply modalities, including but not limited to heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity
Responsible for writing clear professional, objective and accurate documentation in client communication records
