About The Position

Civalgo is a Montreal-based technology company helping self-performing civil contractors run tighter, more profitable operations. Since 2017, our platform has helped teams plan better, track performance in real time, and make data-driven decisions that protect margins. From timekeeping and dispatch to payroll and job costing, we capture what’s happening in the field and turn it into clear, actionable insight. We don’t just sell software: we show up on-site and make sure it works. Now, we’re expanding in the Ottawa region and we’re looking for someone to help us win that market. This is true field sales. You’ll own new business development across the Ottawa region building your territory from the ground up. Your days will be spent driving your territory, walking into job sites and contractor offices, starting conversations, earning trust, and closing deals. If you’ve ever wanted to run a territory like it’s your own business, this is it.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of proven success in field sales (construction, industrial, infrastructure, or similar)
  • Strong track record of building pipeline from scratch and closing net new business
  • Excellent in-person communication and relationship-building skills
  • Valid driver’s license + willingness to travel extensively across the Ottawa region
  • You’re a true hunter, you’d rather build than inherit
  • You’re comfortable spending most of your time on the road
  • You don’t wait for direction, you create momentum
  • You can walk into a job site unannounced and start a real conversation
  • You understand that in construction, trust is earned face-to-face

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling construction tech, equipment, materials, or SaaS
  • Background with companies like Cansel, Brandt, Hilti, Toromont, Battlefield, etc.
  • Knowledge of heavy civil / infrastructure / municipal environments
  • Existing network in the Ottawa contractor ecosystem
  • Bilingual (English/French)

Responsibilities

  • Be in the field daily: contractor offices, job sites, municipal projects
  • Prospect and generate your own pipeline (cold outreach, referrals, events, site visits)
  • Deliver in-person demos tailored to real operational needs — no generic decks
  • Build relationships at every level: owners, PMs, supers, dispatchers
  • Own the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed contract
  • Represent Civalgo at industry events, trade shows, and associations
  • Manage your pipeline in HubSpot with discipline
  • Bring back real market feedback to the team
  • Plan your week and territory strategy with full autonomy
