Farmers is hiring a remote Field Property Claims Adjuster serving the Greater Springfield, Missouri area. This is a field role requiring travel to and from policyholders’ homes. The starting wage is $26.01 per hour or higher, with additional compensation potentially offered based on relevant experience and transferable skills. The role includes paid training through the University of Farmers, flexibility and independence, and opportunities for growth and management development. The adjuster conducts virtual and on-site investigations at residences to assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate losses, and negotiate fair settlements. The role uses claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to assess damage and prepare estimates in a paperless environment. The adjuster may work independently and represent the company in public interactions while engaging with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other parties. Although this is not a catastrophe-specific role, the employee is expected to commit to one to three catastrophe deployments per year. Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team may be required to travel away from home for a specified period, usually about 23 days. Work is performed in the field and in a home-office environment, with exposure to outdoor conditions and other potentially hazardous environments. The position requires climbing ladders and working on rooftops, as well as entering confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
