About The Position

The Field Property Claims Adjuster helps customers navigate property claims and recover after damage to their homes. The role involves traveling locally to insured homes in Shakopee, Minnesota (55379) and surrounding areas to inspect damage, evaluate coverage, prepare repair estimates, and provide customer support. Candidates should live in or near the territory. Most workdays are spent in the field, with occasional desk-based assignments. The adjuster handles moderate to complex claims independently from first notice of loss through final closure, explains loss coverage, assists policyholders with damage itemization, emergency repairs, and additional living arrangements, and coordinates vendor services. The role may include catastrophe duty. Training includes a comprehensive five-month program consisting primarily of virtual and on-the-job learning, with two short in-person sessions during weeks 4 and 7 at the Lewisville, Texas office. Limited overnight travel for training and team meetings is typically less than 10%. Mileage is reimbursed; a company-provided vehicle may be available after mileage requirements are met. A sign-on bonus is available for experienced, actively licensed new hires.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and at least 1 year of directly related experience.
Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated understanding of building construction principles.

Responsibilities

Investigate and evaluate property damage onsite, resolve complex coverage and damage issues, and prepare complete repair estimates for covered damage.
Inspect roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and basements, including accessing roofs by ladder when needed.
Manage moderate to complex claims independently from first notice of loss through final closure.
Explain coverage of loss and help policyholders itemize damages and arrange emergency repairs and additional living arrangements.
Coordinate vendor services, including contractors, emergency repair, cleaning, and replacement services.
Work in a vehicle in the field daily and occasionally handle assignments from a desk.
Travel locally to insured homes within the assigned territory.
Participate in catastrophe duty when called upon.
