About The Position

This role is for a Field Operations Manager to lead and grow commercial plumbing operations in Belgrade, Montana. Williams is the Northwest’s largest plumbing contractor, involved in projects ranging from hospitals to restaurants to high-end custom homes. The company prides itself on having experienced plumbers, the largest apprentice program in the state, and the manpower for ambitious projects. Plumbing is the foundation of the company, and they focus on training and retaining skilled plumbers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Extensive commercial plumbing field experience with proven success leading multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong understanding of field operations, labor productivity, scheduling, and construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop personnel, and drive performance.
  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and presentation abilities; effective in negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate across departments and build alignment between field and office.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and safety standards.
  • Excellent time management and stress handling skills in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools (MS Project or similar)
  • Ability to use digital plans and field reporting tools
  • Experience with Excel and production tracking/reporting systems
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint, or similar)

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Journeyman Plumber License is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees field operations across all commercial projects, driving consistency, monitoring productivity, and removing obstacles.
  • Leads and develops superintendents, foremen, and field teams, conducting performance reviews focused on safety, quality, schedule, and production.
  • Forecasts labor needs, coordinates manpower, and ensures efficient workforce utilization, implementing recovery plans for underperforming projects.
  • Reviews construction schedules, aligns field execution with milestones, and supports look-ahead planning and productivity tracking.
  • Reinforces safety culture, ensures OSHA compliance, performs jobsite audits, and participates in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Partners with Project Management and General Superintendents to coordinate labor, procurement, fabrication, and material delivery, aligning field execution with office priorities and resolving conflicts.
  • Ensures installations meet drawings, specifications, and code requirements, conducting inspections and reducing rework through standardization and planning.
  • Tracks labor productivity, improves efficiency, reduces waste, and supports accurate forecasting and cost control.
  • Maintains professional relationships with general contractors, owners, and stakeholders, representing the company in meetings and field coordination.
  • Ensures accurate field reporting, supports KPI tracking, and drives operational improvement across projects.
