About The Position

The Field Installation Technician performs customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and equipment recovery for an Internet Service Provider. The role combines physical installation work at customer locations with technical tasks, including updating databases. Technicians perform site surveys, diagnose and resolve service problems, and install internet equipment and cabling based on the technology available. Work may involve mounting equipment at or above roof height and working at elevated locations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Professional dress, speech, and manner.
Ability to work independently using sound judgment.
Desire to learn and interest in technology.
Ability to use tools to install equipment.
Must pass a drug screening test and criminal background check.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting or positioning objects of at least 60 pounds, climbing roofs and elevated structures, and climbing heights up to 200 feet.
Employee weight and tools combined may not exceed the 300-pound limit specified by the safety equipment manufacturer.

Responsibilities

Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.
Diagnose customer problems during service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.
Install internet service for new customers using the technology available, including mounting equipment at or above roof height and running Cat5-E or fiber-optic cable from outside to the customer's desired location.
Update databases as part of the technical work performed at customer locations.
Recover customer equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
