About The Position

STG Logistics is a provider of managed and extended port-to-door outsourcing services, combining its people, technology, drayage and intermodal operations, CFS facilities, and warehouse fulfillment locations to serve customers’ supply chains. The Field Dispatcher plans freight, maximizes driver utilization, and solves problems to support customer logistics needs. The role communicates with customers and carriers, coordinates deliveries and fleet activity, manages equipment, and keeps records accurate and timely. The work environment is usually low to moderate in noise; employees rarely encounter fumes or airborne particles, or toxic or caustic chemicals. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
One year of experience in an operations or dispatch environment.
Two years of logistics or transportation experience.
Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

Communicate with customers, potential customers, owner-operators, and core carriers.
Plan and execute customer deliveries.
Monitor fleet locations using system tracking or by calling drivers for check calls.
Proactively communicate with customers about potential service failures and create action plans to prevent future issues.
Execute legging, street turn, and empty repositioning functionality in Rail Optimizer.
Manage equipment, including chassis and containers.
Maintain proper records and ensure information is executed correctly and on time.
