About The Position

InPost UK is seeking a Field Business Development Manager to win new e-commerce and retail clients across London, the South East and the South. This is a new-business role focused on building a territory from scratch, opening opportunities with mid-market and larger B2C online retailers, and managing deals from the first conversation through signed agreement and go-live. The manager will represent InPost in the field, develop relationships across operational teams and senior leadership, and position InPost as an out-of-home delivery partner of choice. The role owns targets for client meetings, submitted offers and signed agreements. It involves generating and qualifying prospects, leading the full sales cycle, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, negotiating commercial offers, supporting onboarding and identifying upsell opportunities. The manager will maintain CRM and forecasting data, monitor market and competitor developments, and collaborate with teams across the business.

Requirements

  • Proven B2C e-commerce logistics experience, such as with parcel carriers, fulfilment, last-mile delivery, delivery-management platforms, or checkout and delivery solutions sold to online retailers.
  • A record of new business development in a field-based or hybrid sales role, with evidence of meeting or exceeding new-business targets.
  • A working network or existing relationships with e-commerce and retail businesses in London, the South East and the South.
  • Experience selling to multiple stakeholders in complex organisations, including senior and C-suite audiences.
  • Commercial negotiation skills, including B2B pricing and contract discussions.
  • CRM experience for pipeline management and sales reporting.
  • Strong presentation and proposal skills for senior audiences.
  • Residence within the territory or ability to travel across it regularly.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Meet individual targets for client meetings, submitted offers and signed agreements.
  • Build a qualified pipeline of B2C retail and e-commerce prospects through field visits, networking, referrals and digital prospecting.
  • Manage deals from first meeting through commercial agreement and a smooth go-live.
  • Engage stakeholders in operations, e-commerce, supply chain, finance and commercial decision-making.
  • Prepare commercial offers and agreements, negotiate and confidently handle objections.
  • Monitor client onboarding, identify upsell opportunities and hand clients over to Customer Success.
  • Track competitors and e-commerce and parcel logistics trends, and share market insights with the business.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting data in the CRM.
  • Work with Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal and Customer Success.
