Field Auto Claims Adjuster - Greensboro
About The Position
National General, an Allstate company, is hiring a field-based Auto Claims Adjuster to evaluate first- and third-party material damage claims and help guide them to appropriate resolution. The role involves developing or auditing damage estimates, applying knowledge of policy coverage, regulatory requirements, fair claims practices, and estimating fundamentals, and building trusted relationships with internal and external customers. The adjuster negotiates settlements, documents claim activity, and makes payments within their authority. This position supports customers throughout Greensboro, Burlington, Sanford, Salisbury, and surrounding areas in North Carolina. Candidates must live within reasonable proximity to the assigned territory and be comfortable with regular local travel for customer support and in-person claim inspections. The position has no supervisory duties. The employee may be required to attend two weeks of in-person training at the company’s Dallas, Texas office.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience is preferred.
- Candidates must live within reasonable proximity to the assigned North Carolina territory.
- Must be comfortable with regular local travel and in-person claim inspections.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; the company does not sponsor work visas.

Responsibilities
- Create or audit estimates for first- and third-party material damage losses of all severities.
- Apply a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
- Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in complex files across multiple lines.
- Evaluate settlement alternatives for regulatory compliance and fair claims practices and decide on the best option.
- Build relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.
