About The Position

This entry-level position supports the Auto Claims Operation by handling material damage, property damage, and/or liability claims written by the Interinsurance Exchange in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Under moderate supervision and within specific limits and authority, the adjuster resolves lower-complexity claims using established procedures and company technical and customer service best practices. The role focuses on liability investigation, coverage evaluation, claims resolution, and negotiation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
• No prior claims experience is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer software.
• Organization, planning, and recognition skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• May be required to obtain an Adjuster license as applicable under state law within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and interact with insureds, claimants, and other individuals.
• Verify and explain benefits, coverages, fault, and the claims process verbally or in writing in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Investigate claims to determine liability and damages and distinguish allegations from facts.
• Identify and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Evaluate and negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first- and third-party claims in multiple markets.
• Review estimates and demonstrate proficiency with material damage, liability analysis, claims technology, and related tools.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments as required.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and inquiries.
