About The Position

This entry-level position supports the Auto Claims Operation by providing service pursuant to the policy while handling material damage, property damage, and/or liability claims written by the Interinsurance Exchange. The role complies with regulatory and statutory requirements and focuses on liability investigation, coverage evaluation, and resolution and negotiation of lower-complexity claims using established company technical and customer-service best practices. Under moderate supervision, the adjuster works within specific limits and authority to resolve claims using well-defined procedures.

Requirements

• No prior claims experience is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer software.
• Organization and planning skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Property and Casualty Insurance License valid in the selling state, issued by the state.
• May be required to obtain an Adjuster license as applicable under state law within 60 days.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with insureds, claimants, and other individuals; explain benefits, coverage, fault, and the claims process verbally or in writing in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Investigate liability and damages, distinguish allegations from facts, and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Evaluate and negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first- and third-party claims in multiple markets.
• Review estimates and analyze material damage, liability, and claims using claims technology and tools.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments as needed.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and inquiries.
