Field Access Specialist - Austin

UCB•Austin, TX
•$154,400 - $202,700•Hybrid

About The Position

The Field Access Specialist (FAS) supports timely and successful patient access to prescribed UCB medicines by educating healthcare providers about navigating payer barriers. The role bridges prescribers’ clinical decisions and patients’ treatment initiation and provides non-promotional support within UCB’s Market Access, Access and Reimbursement Department. The position is based in the Austin, Texas territory, and the specialist must reside within the assigned territory. The FAS supports sites of care with information about local, regional, and national payer coverage, pharmacy benefits, and payer policies for UCB Immunology medicines. Supported sites may include private and group practices, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks and health systems with dermatology departments and associated specialty pharmacies, private-equity- and venture-capital-backed dermatology groups, and other sites within the assigned geography. The specialist partners with office staff to improve operational processes and patient experiences, monitors access cases and milestones, and collaborates with internal teams, HUB services, and specialty pharmacies to address barriers to care. The role leads field-based initiatives in response to payer changes that affect patient access. UCB describes its work environment as hybrid-first; unless the position’s nature precludes it, employees spend 40% of their time in the office.
