Federal Lead Software Engineer (Secret Clearance)

As an Engineering Manager at Virtru, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers with diverse expertise and experiences. Your role will involve building software that has a significant impact on how people approach data privacy. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, touching a variety of projects and products. Additionally, you will be involved in developing with Python, working with IoT or Encryption Sensors, deploying and operating a highly available Enterprise SaaS application, and taking ownership of the entire lifecycle and toolchain of an application.

• Managing a team of engineers with a variety of expertise and experiences.
• Building software that will meaningfully impact how people approach data privacy.
• Working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment where you'll touch a variety of projects and products.
• Developing with Python.
• Working with IoT or Encryption Sensors - reading data, encrypting, and embedding data onto sensors.
• Deploying and operating a highly available, scalable Enterprise SaaS application in a DevOps environment.
• Taking ownership of the entire lifecycle and toolchain of an application from code, to various types of automated tests (unit, integration, Selenium, canaries), to deployment, to operational (on-call rotation, pager duty, etc).
• Producing in an IDE VS Code development environment.
• Onsite work in Washington, D.C.
• Defense threat reduction experience.
• Must have Active Top Secret Clearance.
• Minimum 5 years developing within Python.
• Strong demonstrable understanding of software design patterns.
• Ability to read C++, C#, and .NET code and understand Nano TDF.
• Experience building and deploying applications using AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
• Deployment with Docker and/or Kubernetes to accelerate all aspects of the development lifecycle.
• Javascript; NodeJS and/or other frameworks/toolchains including React, Babel, Webpack, Express.

• Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset.
• Able to collaborate and adapt to shifting priorities as business needs evolve.

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing within Python
