About the position
As a Federal Engineering Manager at Virtru, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers with various expertise and experiences. Your role will involve building software that impacts data privacy, collaborating in a fast-paced environment, and developing with Python. Additionally, you will work with IoT or Encryption Sensors, deploy and operate a scalable SaaS application, and take ownership of the entire lifecycle and toolchain of an application. This role requires onsite work in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Managing a team of engineers with a variety of expertise and experiences.
- Building software that will meaningfully impact how people approach data privacy.
- Working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment on various projects and products.
- Developing with Python.
- Working with IoT or Encryption Sensors - reading data, encrypting, and embedding data onto sensors.
- Deploying and operating a highly available, scalable Enterprise SaaS application in a DevOps environment.
- Taking ownership of the entire lifecycle and toolchain of an application.
- Producing in an IDE VS Code development environment.
- Onsite work in Washington, D.C.
- Defense threat reduction experience.
- Must have Active Top Secret Clearance.
- Minimum 5 years developing within Python.
- Strong demonstrable understanding of software design patterns.
- Ability to read C++, C#, and .NET code and understand Nano TDF.
- Experience building and deploying applications using AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
- Deployment with Docker and/or Kubernetes to accelerate all aspects of the development lifecycle.
- Javascript; NodeJS and/or other frameworks/toolchains including React, Babel, Webpack, Express.
- Thinking outside of the box to respectfully challenge teammates and managers in the pursuit of excellence.
- Strong sense of urgency with an action-oriented mindset.
- Able to collaborate and adapt to shifting priorities as business needs evolve.
- Comfortable with asynchronous communication including slack, email, zoom, etc.
