About The Position

The Fast and Fresh Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; operates the cash register accurately and scans products; and helps maintain store cleanliness, product quality and quantity, and supplies in the store and at the pumps. The role works with customers, coworkers, suppliers, and the general public in a fast-paced environment, and reports to the listed store and Fast & Fresh management roles.

Requirements

Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people or provide basic direction.
Ability to physically perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, and to perceive depth, color, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
No education or experience requirements.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, treating customers with care, concern, and patience.
Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and help them locate or reach products, handle heavy items, and share suggestions or requests.
Answer customer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Work with coworkers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Operate the cash register accurately, scan products where applicable, and report improper cash levels.
Redeem coupons and food stamps; accept cash, checks, and credit-card transactions; process in-store charges and discounts; count back change and issue receipts.
Bag or box merchandise and give packages to customers.
Assist with department inventory, receive and check delivered merchandise, put products into appropriate storage, stock shelves and displays, and review invoices as needed.
Maintain the lot, including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and hosing it down.
Fill outside towel holders and replenish or refresh window washer fluid.
Remove trash inside and outside in a timely manner.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep work areas clean and neat, including registers, restrooms, the break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors and replenish supplies.
Follow personal hygiene, dress, company policy, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
Order merchandise and supplies as needed and price products for customers when necessary.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
