About The Position

The Fast and Fresh Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; operates the cash register and scans products; and helps maintain store cleanliness, product quality and quantity, and supplies in the store and at the pumps. The role works with customers, coworkers, suppliers and vendors, and the general public in a fast-paced environment. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

No education or experience requirements.
Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables and limited standardization, and to interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people by providing basic direction.
Ability to perform medium physical work: exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, efficient customer service, greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and help them find or handle products.
Answer customer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Work with coworkers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Operate the cash register accurately, scan products, report improper cash levels, process payments and coupons, calculate discounts, count back change, issue receipts, and bag or box purchases.
Assist with department inventory; receive, check, and store delivered merchandise; stock shelves and displays; check in products and review invoices as needed.
Maintain the lot by shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and hosing it down; refill outdoor towel holders and replenish or refresh window washer fluid.
Remove trash and clean registers, restrooms, break room, backroom, floors, and other work areas; maintain sanitation and supplies.
Follow personal hygiene, dress, company, and store guidelines; report to work as scheduled and on time.
Order merchandise and supplies as needed.
Price products for customers as necessary.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
