About The Position

The Family Store Assistant Manager supports the store manager in planning, administering, monitoring, and evaluating day-to-day store operations while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The role works alongside store associates to assist customers and serves as the manager when the store manager is absent.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in retail sales.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Working knowledge of Teams and SharePoint.
• Proficient in operating a point-of-sale system.
• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Complete Safe From Harm training and keep it current as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising clerks to ensure their duties comply with directives and guidelines.
• Assist with training new personnel.
• Help ensure cash receipts are banked at the end of each business day and required information is sent to the appropriate personnel.
• Attend monthly managers’ staff meetings and keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
• Assist with leading customer development and retention plans to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Report safety hazards.
• Help protect personnel, property, and the building.
• Report detrimental behavior by clerks to the manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
