About The Position

Under the direction of the Family Service Counselor Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the Family Service Counselor is to offer and sell cemetery products and services to all individuals and families who are candidates for cemetery arrangements; both at-need and pre-need. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)

Requirements

Possess a valid driver's license and access to an insured automobile
Attention to detail and well organized
Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
Dependable, responsible and team player
Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, and presentation Ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to records and services
Project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Professional appearance
Post high school sales training or education or equivalent cemetery sales experience
Two years of experience in sales or customer service
Strong computer skills

Nice To Haves

Bi-lingual (Spanish, English) very highly desirable

Responsibilities

Interact with Families to provide accurate information in response to inquiries about products and services
Educate families on the options and products available based on Families’ needs and interests
Write and record orders for property, merchandise, and services
Attends their families’ cemetery services and provides guidance to Funeral Directors
Provide ongoing support to families after sales and burial in order to resolve concerns and maintain rapport
Record families' interactions, transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken
Conform with all cemetery policies and local, state and federal laws relating to the handling of human remains
Secure pre-need marketing and outreach contacts outside of at-need services
Participate in special community events organized and held at the cemeteries such as Memorial Day Mass, All Souls Day Mass, Advent Mass and others that may be planned.
Provide support to management and administrative personnel as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by the Family Service Manager
