About The Position
CAMBA is a community organization dedicated to building an inclusive New York City by providing over 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. CAMBA reaches over 72,000 individuals and families annually across 100 locations. The Healthy Families Program specifically offers voluntary home visiting services to pregnant or newly parenting families in Brooklyn zip codes 11226, 11233, 11218, 11225, 11210, 11238. This program matches parents with knowledgeable workers who provide support during pregnancy and early childhood.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Knowledgeable of community resources to offer referrals.
- Experience in working with or providing services to children and their families.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships and acceptance of individual differences.
- Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families.
- Knowledge of infant and child development.
- Open to reflective supervision.
Nice To Haves
- College coursework preferred.
- Bilingual Haitian Kreyol (Highly Preferred).
Responsibilities
- Completing the validated Family Resilience and Opportunities for Growth (FROG) Scale with families to identify family strengths and areas to address.
- Administering the FROG Scale objectively and reliably in a relationship-building, conversational style.
- Initiating and maintaining regular and long-term (up to three or five years) contact and support with families, primarily through home visits lasting at least one hour.
- Conducting virtual visits as needed.
- Providing family-centered, strength-based interventions aimed at establishing trust, strengthening the parent-child relationship, promoting healthy child development, and enhancing family well-being.
- Providing support to individuals and/or families requiring social service assistance.
- Assessing applicants for services and developing service plans and goals with client input.
- Providing referrals to community resources for participants.
- Creating and maintaining participant files.
- Providing all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
