Locum - Family Medicine - Cole Harbour
About The Position
Cole Harbour Family Medicine is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage for the following dates: August 10, 2026 - August 23, 2026; August 12, 2026 - August 30, 2026 (part-time); August 24, 2026 - August 30, 2026. The role involves the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. The physician will work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same-day access, and utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) to record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR accessible to all collaborating team members.
Requirements
- eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Responsibilities
- delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
- work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
- utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members
Benefits
- guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
- additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded
- accommodations up to $300 per night
- travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
- travel time up to 10 hours per week
- licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)
